I ran a tree service for over 20 years and bought countless saws from this family-run business. They are nice people, although some may feel they are stand-offish. Great products and repairs. There's a reason CalFire buys from them and has their equipment repairs performed there. You can't go wrong, just don't expect to be coddled. They're too busy to hold your hand. Tell June Dan the Mountain Man says "hi."

Wilburs is a great place to get high end gardening power equipment. They only sell the best brands which means the cost is higher than the Home stores, but is the best quality. They also service and repair what they sell, another great plus. I can highly recommend them and what they sell.

I delt with Wilber back in 1979 and early 80's. Wilber was great to know and do business with. He passed on and I have had to get some small tractor tires there. I had them install one and took the other home. I went in without my tire and told Wilbers daughter I was going to bring in my tire that I had purchased several years earlier. It had something sitting on it and was out of round. I did not notice the price tag on it. I told the repair man I was going to bring it in and that it would be hard to inflate. He said ok I went out and got it and walked it down the side of the building to the back. The next day I I went to pick it up and they were charging me for the tire. I reminded them I came in before fore to let them know I wanted the other tire mounted. Wilbers daughter was rude and said next time bring a receipt. I have had another dealing with them where they were over charging me and were rude. They are over price and I can get anything on the internet for mush less than they are asking. Wilber was great. I don't know where his son went. I might have gone to Havasu with some of the other young people from Mentone that went there and started great businesses. Wilbers wife is not much better. I hate to say bad things about the business but there are places that do just as good of a job for less money and I don't get treated rudely. I can repair anything and now have a huge 175 psi compressor and can inflate tires with no problem. Wilber was great. Pox on his family.

I want to like Wilbur's. I like doing business locally and I am willing to pay a little bit more to support a small business. Twice I have purchased Echo power tools at Wilbur's and both times I felt like I was inconveniencing the front desk staff. A few weeks ago I went in ready to buy two new tools. I was completely ignored. When I asked a question I got an answer that seemed condescending. I ended up buying the tools at Home Depot. I have never used Wilbur's for repairs. Maybe the repairs experience is better.

I've lived in Mentone for 8 years now. And everytime I come to this store I'm greeted with cold stares,and feel very unwelcome. Im a homeowner just across in a nearby community, so Wilbur's is convenient. I'm not going to be discouraged but will continue to shop at this store. Perhaps some day they will learn to show some love to it's customers.

I have taken a couple of items here for service. The first time, my saw ran worse than when I took it in. I took it back, only to be told it ran fine. I then took it to ACE, where it was fixed in a couple of days and has ran like a top.

I tried to give Wilburs my business again, and the same thing happened, $160 and a new carb later, the items bogged down at full throttle, and eventually died. Took it back, only to be told once again that they ran just fine. Tried running them at home and the same issue reared up. I even showed them video of the machines running terribly after their work (the first time), and still there is “nothing wrong with them.”

I will be giving ACE my business from here on out.

Went in with an idea of what I wanted/needed, I asked for help on my decision and wound up buying the saw I needed. I did not feel any pressure to buy a better chainsaw then the one I need. I have used the saw 3 times so far and I am happy I listened to the man (so sad I can't remember his name but he is the Service man there) he knew what he had and understood what I was going to use it for. All I can say is "I'll be back"
