Local legend offering the best produce, baked goods, specialty vegetarian and omnivore groceries in town. Fantastic neighborhood staff who are knowledgeable and attentive. Unique gift items, vitamins and supplements, prepared foods. The cookies are incredibly flavorful and unique- Matcha, lavender, almond butter, as well chocolate chip, sugar cookies, peanut butter, brownies.

What keeps me coming back to this store is the friendliness of staff. This is the only store where I don't feel embarrassed to use my EBT card. You all are wonderful!

The co-op is amazing and my favorite place to go in Chico for a special treat. The bulk food and produce section is reasonably priced given how it’s sourced. The hot bar is unbeatable, and don’t even get me started on the veggie BLT. I recommend going to the co-op for quality food, fun energy, and kombucha on tap!

Found an old gift card from several years back. I figured I should bring it in and at least see if perhaps there was anything at all on it.

The employee knew immediately to go to a binder beside the registers and was able to look up the card details right there on paper since they had switched to a new system and no longer had access to the old info!

She was fully trained on how to transfer those funds to a new card so I could use it right there on my purchase. The whole process took maybe 2 minutes. I was truly impressed and she was so friendly!

I know that if this kind of scenario had happened at some corporate retailer like Safeway or Target (etc.) the cashier would have probably had to call for a manager and it would have held up the line.

I'm so happy to be able to be an owner/community supporter of this awesome resource. She even walked me step-by-step through a change of address form for my ownership account.

PS - Another employee was able to notice me having a rough tone searching for something after barely 10 seconds and offered to help.

PPS - They sell Cali-made "Peanut M&Ms" made by SunRidge Farms (out of Royal Oaks, CA)...called "Milk Chocolate Peanut Rainbow Drops".. I never have to stop by a candy store again.. 😉

It’s unfortunate that a few of the staff members here don’t find me worthy of a greeting (or respect apparently) because I wear a mask inside the store. “Hi welcome in!” **but not if you’re wearing a mask** Ironically these same women are seen in a loosely fitting “baggy blue” surgical mask a few times a year, sometimes visibly sick. How many people did they infect with their germs before they (gasp!) had to put on a mask to protect their customers and coworkers? Not me! Thanks to my trusty respirator 🙂 You’d think the local co-op would have a better attitude about this and us. It says a lot about these people and their culture. The store itself is fine. I get what I need here. It’s too bad a few folks feel the need to ostracize me more than I already am, just by trying to remain safe while I’m getting groceries.
