Pleasant surprise. They were running short staffed with an abbreviated menu, but it still had plenty of options. Dining room was moderately busy and the staff kept everything smooth and working efficiently. Order was taken quickly, drinks came out fast, food was cooked well, and came out quickly. Prices were great.

What a hidden gem. Stopped in after mass and enjoyed the Madera classic with peaches. Everything was cook to order and tasted great. We're going back soon. Staff were very attentive.

Unfortunately we can not give this a good review. As first time guests we had breakfast. My banana bread French toast was quite dry as it was severely over baked. Burned to be honest. The hash browns were overcooked as well. I was hoping for a better outcome. I hope you find this helpful.

I liked the food however it is trumped by the lack of politeness and courduality from the server this morning. Not much of a pleasant gal that served us this morning. She seemed preoccupied. I also ordered a sweet to go and it was brought to the table in a plain paper bag that was actually torn on the bottom and the sweet bun was not wrapped and was just laying there on the bottom of the paper bag. I asked this server about why it was not wrapped properly and why it was put in a bag that did not actually seem that it was safe from germs. She said that was the way they did things like this. really!?
and ... the big one is that they DO NOT GIVE VETERAN discounts and I asked why and they said that there are just too many veterans in this area. REALLY?
I will probably go there again for their specials which are pretty good but I would not go there again for their service and attitude.

We have been having breakfast here for quite some time. The breakfast menu is extensive and full of great choices. My favorite is the breakfast sandwich with ham. My wife likes the brisket sandwich. The place is very busy most mornings, but worth the wait. The service is top notch. The coffee is hot and your cup is kept full. We’ve had breakfast in many places and we find this is our favorite place. We HIGHLY recommend this restaurant!!!

07/01/23 I thought I would give this place a try. It looked very cozy inside now. Had not been here since the new owner took over and changed the name. We walked in. Someone told us to seat ourselves and so we did. A couple came in behind us seated themselves and a server came right to them. After that server had taken their drink, order brought their drinks and taken their food order. He then came to us to take our drink order. He brought us our drinks very quickly and we waited on our food. It came in a timely manner. It actually looked very good. We had sausage and gravy and breakfast burrito. The breakfast burrito was as expected but the sausage biscuit was like a hockey puck. With a small portion of some kind of gravy water over it. The gravy had a meat that was supposed to be sausage but like none I've ever seen. And the flavor was less than desired. The server never came back. We flagged someone down to get my companion some water. Later flag down our server for a box for half of the breakfast burrito. The server noted the plate of uneaten gravy biscuit asked if a box was needed and he was told no. He inquired no further. When we informed the cashier on the way out about the service and the quality of food she said we should have told the server and then we pointed out to her that he never returned. She made no further comment. Cashed us out and said hope to see you again soon. She was flatly told that won't be happening.

OMG. Had to go to the health clinic next door. We jokingly stated that they needed to serve donuts and coffee while waiting for the doctor. The staff suggested Madera Sunrise next door. I'll tell you what. It was worth the time, and the money. The staff was super friendly. The place is much larger than it appears. The food was great. Hats off to the folks at this establishment. We will be back foe more Benedict specials!

When we walked in there was a sign that said "Please wait to be seated", we were the first in the door and two other couples followed. The hostess bypassed us (walked right by us as if we were invisible and greeted the couples, not together, behind us) and seated the two other couples before even acknowledging us. We learned quickly that majorities of participants are regulars and from nearby retirement communities. We fit right in age wise but didn't live in the communities nor were we regulars. It was our first time visiting the area. A bit surprised how we were intentionally ignored as we watched the hostess seat two other couples before us, but since we are forgiving people we thought maybe the food is worthwhile!? We were eventually seated in a tiny little both with torn seats. We ordered the avocado spread on toast and biscuit and gravy. I was expecting the avocado on toast to look and taste like the one I order at FirstWatch restaurant, but instead I got a slice of bread with sliced avocado 🥑 on it. And half of the avocado was rotten. 😬 I peeled the rotten part away. The bacon was burnt and flaked all over the plate when picking it up. The eggs didn't taste right either. The biscuits and gravy were very bland and had no thickness or taste to the gravy whatsoever other than flour. Our waitress never returned to our table for refills or asked how everything was. A different waitress showed up to give us the bill once she took notice we were standing and ready to leave. Our bill showed different prices vs the menu. 😳 We were charged higher fees vs menu prices, and when we went to pay the cashier added an additional $1 for using credit cards to our already overcharged bill. We visited this place Sunday prior to this post. We don't ever plan to return- due to mishaps, lack of care thereof, unfriendliness (not regulars), and bland food. We give it a two star because it's a nice set up and the nearby retirees and communities obviously finacially support it, although, it's in dire need of attention and overhaul on staff, consistency, management, menu, ownerships, cooks, and betterment idea's decoratively and overall atmosphere.
