The Salvation Army has been helping me out with presents for my children for the last 6 years. Last year five of my seven kids literally only got one present and two of my kids didn't get anything at all. I love that everything is donation based but the way things were done last year were uncalled for. I hope things are better organized this year

UPDATE: I had an enormous amount of stuff I wanted to donate recently but was told that unless I was donating furniture they would not send a truck. I stopped one passing in front of my house and they wouldn’t take it. I didn’t even want a receipt. Everything is going to Goodwill in the future.

The Salvation Army is my go-to place to make donations. They are appreciative of everything they get (as opposed to the White Elephant a mile away). It's a small operation which makes it even nicer. When I have large items to donate, scheduling pick ups are easy and the guys are super friendly.
