Take the free gondola (green one) to and from each end of the nature trail and/or to the Skyglider gondola (red). If you do hike the nature trail, the gondola will take you back to whichever point of origin so you don’t have to go uphill both ways, literally. It’s not crazy but enough hill to get the blood going.

was pleasantly surprised at visiting Icy Strait Point and Wilderness Landing. I took the Gondola and Tram Excursion. I watched the fast moving Zipline pass over my head. Once you reach the pier, one takes a Gondola to an area where you pick up another Gondola to reach the tram to tour the rain forest. Before you ride the higher Gondola, you may shop, and sit around a fire and listen to music while drinking or eating food. Then you take a longer Gondola to a higher level where you catch the tram. The tram is a guided ridden tour around the rain forest. Dave, our guide, was knowledgeable, friendly and knew the history of the Island, spoke and pointed out the edible and herbal plants. Overall everyone was friendly, and I enjoyed learning about the culture of the people and the plants/trees on the island.

The Sky Glider is super cool. You go very high, very quickly, and get some amazing views. If you’re afraid of heights, beware, as the ride up will make you feel anxious. However the gliders themselves are fully enclosed and seem perfectly safe. The views from the top are great. Food and drinks at the top are somewhat overpriced and bare bones, and reception/WiFi is not reliable.

Very nice native owned cruise dock and touristy sight seeing spot. The attractions are a bit expensive but how often do you get to an Alaskan island. They have two gondolas. One (red) costs $50 to ride to the top of the mountain and back as often as you'd like to ride it. The other one (green) is free and gets you to the other side of the island to more restaurants, souvenir shops and a museum.

Once you're at the top of the mountain, there is an hour-long guided wilderness trolley for $80. It's informative and takes you through the forest and teaches you a lot about the island.

Very beautiful scenery place at Icy Strait Point with access to get into Hoonah via Gondola or to top of Hoonah Mountain at 1,600-feet of elevation, where miles of new hiking trails and scenic vistas await.
The pier is well built to accommodate cruise ships and impressed. Also saw a Bald Eagle in the tree while there.

Tip: The red gondola is about $44 to the view point over the bay, it's beautiful but not a lot else to do up there.

The green gondola on the other hand into the small town is free!!

Wilderness Landing exceeded all my expectations! From the moment I arrived, I was blown away by the stunning natural beauty that surrounded the lodge. The accommodations were top-notch, with comfortable and cozy cabins that provided a perfect retreat after a day of outdoor activities. The staff was incredibly friendly and knowledgeable, always ready to offer assistance or provide recommendations for hiking trails and wildlife spotting. Speaking of wildlife, I had the privilege of seeing some incredible creatures up close, including bears, moose, and eagles. The food served at the lodge was delicious, with a focus on locally sourced ingredients and hearty, home-cooked meals. If you're looking for an authentic wilderness experience with warm hospitality, I highly recommend Wilderness Landing!"

Gorgeous views, it is so amazingly scenic and serene. The scenery is breathtaking. Going on the Zip Rider in Hoonah in a few minutes. Can't wait for that experience gliding down the mountain!
