As a resident who lived at the Pizitz For 2 1/2 years, it is such a shame to see who they have hired to manage such an amazing property. As the face of the building, she sets the tone for the entire community—but unfortunately, that tone is anything but welcoming. She was consistently rude, unhelpful, and dismissive, making interactions with her an unpleasant experience.

Rather than fostering a sense of community, she belittles residents and treats people with a level of disregard that is completely unacceptable for someone in a customer-facing role. Living in a luxury apartment complex, I expect professionalism and basic courtesy for such an expensive complex, yet she fails to provide either.

The Pizitz itself is a beautiful place to live, but management plays a significant role in the overall experience. Until changes are made at the leadership level, I would caution potential residents to consider how much a negative management experience can impact daily life.

I wanted to take a moment to shine a spotlight on Gillian, the leasing consultant I had the pleasure of touring with yesterday, March 14, 2025. She is truly a rare gem, and I felt compelled to share my experience.

My interaction with Gillian began with a spontaneous call during my apartment search. Not only did she answer immediately, but when I inquired about scheduling a tour, she graciously offered to accommodate me that very day. This small act of flexibility meant the world to me, as my current lease is nearing its end, and I’m eager to find a new home as soon as possible.

From the moment I stepped into the community, Gillian greeted me with the warmest smile and a heartfelt compliment that instantly made me feel welcome. It was evident that she takes pride in her role and genuinely cares about creating a positive experience for both current and prospective residents. As she guided me through the property, she highlighted every feature with enthusiasm and even shared the unique history of the complex — no detail was left unexplored.

What stood out most was her ability to balance professionalism with authenticity. She took the time to understand my budget and needs, offering thoughtful solutions while making me feel like more than just another visitor. In fact, after touring with her, I can confidently say that the exceptional service she provided alone is worth every penny.

Having toured multiple communities in the downtown area, I can say with absolute certainty that this property stands out — not just because of the amenities, but because of the people. Gillian’s dedication, warmth, and attention to detail have made my decision an easy one: I will be making this my new home.

To Gillian: thank you for going above and beyond. Your hard work and passion don’t go unnoticed, and you truly are a star!

UPDATE: I'm officially moving in on April 25th, and I couldn’t be more excited! If you're considering making this your new home, I highly recommend it. And be sure to ask for Gillian — she’s absolutely fantastic and made the process so smooth.

I agree with Rachel R's review. I lived here twice and the leasing staff has never been the friendliest, but they're unresponsive now that I've moved out. I reached out via phone and email multiple times to ask about my deposit and have not received any follow-up. It's frustrating and unprofessional.

Perfect Downtown location, staff is super nice, helpful with everything needed to move in! Great Amenities rooftop pool , and the food hall just seals the deal!

Very nice building with tons of amenities like a rooftop pool, food court, and nice apartments within this former department store. The stained concrete floors and original hardwoods go well with the nice granite counter tops and stainless steel appliances. Also, the location makes it walkable to nightlife and great dining options here downtown. Pet friendly as well.

Living at The Pizitz is great. The location is so convenient to so much downtown and quick access to 280 and I-65. The management team has always been great to work with and responsive to my needs (quick maintenance fixes, etc.).

Absolutely awesome experience being a part of the entire Pizitz experience. The living space is phenomenal, the food court, movie theatre and all the other amenities make it the very best place to live in Birmingham.
