The front desk representative Gabby was pleasant, polite and very customer service oriented. We got to our room and at first glance it was fine. That is where the great experience ended.

The bathroom floor grout was at one time light, but was very dirty and black. The white caulking around the shower door had turned black in many areas. The door did not move very smoothly. The one side of the shower door that they wanted to stay closed was fastened with a screw drilled into the frame.

The toilet was loose. Every time someone sat on it, it felt like it moved and made a loud clunk.

The Dove products that were in the shower did not appear to be true Dove products. Completely different fragrance than normal.

The coffee pot was never cleaned since it still contained grounds from the previous occupant.

We were located on the first floor. The black out privacy curtain did not meet in the middle when closed.

Overall, the customer service was great, but the cleanliness and maintenance has a lot to be desired. We come through Alabaster one to two times a year and will not be staying there again.

We had a great stay while in town for a skate competition. Upon arrival around midnight, even though we checked in through the app, the hotel had been oversold for the night and our room was unavailable. This is not the fault of the staff or this location at all, but IHG Reservations/On-line booking should do better to not place the staff in a bad situation. Knowing we had driven from Tennessee, the front desk clerk found us a room for the night (only one available left) and staff worked to get us into our reserved room the next day. We were accommodated with a place for her to get ready for competition even though our booked room was not ready from housekeeping. They even wished her good luck as we left!!

The actual booked room was great, with a lot of space to spread out, get schoolwork done, and the kitchen was a plus even if the burners were not working. Loved having our own ice maker in the room. The bathtub is in need of replacement, but otherwise this met our needs perfectly. Will definitely stay here again if we return to the area. It is a nice location near restaurants and shopping, but tucked away and very quiet.

Management and night shift staff deserve more than 5 stars!!

I’ve been staying here two times a year for 4 years. This last time the first room I was assigned had no working bathroom lights. The second room had only one of 2 lights working and there were no replacement bulbs on site. The window screen had a very large hole in it. There was a shirt on the floor from previous guests. No hair dryer- apparently no longer an amenity. Hotel personnel are very good but owner needs to put some money into the hotel before it deteriorates further.

Good things: large bathroom, friendly staff, washcloth nice and fluffy. I was recognized as a Platinum member.

Bad things: I had to push and pull very hard to open and close it. Smoke detector was unplugged from the ceiling and laying on the shelf. Chair in room was very old and worn. Power outlet by bed not working. Toilet seat very loose. Small TV with no channel guide. Curtains falling off rod, so I couldn't block out the outside light. No lotion, but 3 bottles of soap. 2 hairs in the shower.

TV was not working, but maintenance was able to fix it.

I visit Alabaster often because of family, and will only stay at Candlewood Suites in Alabaster!! I was there again this past weekend and again, it was the most wonderful stay! The front desk representative, Carnell ( I hoped I spelled correctly). was extremely helpful, professional, and friendly! He made me feel welcomed, he took care of everything the minute I walked in!! Makes me feel like a part of the family!! I am so grateful for him. Thank you so much for making my stay so peaceful and relaxing!! I look forward to seeing you all again in a couple weeks!!

I was highly disappointed after calling to make reservations and being assured we would be able to charge a boat on the outside of the building to finding out that no 110 plugs worked. After speaking with management, we were assured they would take care of it. Yes they acted like they cared but in fact did not. We were never contacted to tell us the issue was fixed.

The front desk clerk was wonderful. We had to contact him due to the TV's not working and he graciously got that situated for us.

I was able to use points on one stay but not the 2nd room and to know I paid what I did after being lied to, I have no future plans to stay at another Candlewood Suites.

One room had coffee the other had none.

Need to be more like Holiday Inn and offer something to the guests that make you want to return. I would like some kind of reimbursement, whether points or money.

Should have been two beds rather than one. Sofa bed was full of crumbs and stained—yuck. Staff, however, was really nice and really tried to help but the hotel was full and the hotel was full. The woman working the front desk when I came in was great.

Great location-near shopping center with several lances to eat or shop, as well as a gas station. Close to the interstate. Rooms are not luxury rooms, but I sleep fine when we stay there and they are always clean. No pool, but they do have a covered outside area to grill and they have their cupboard where you can purchase snacks, quick meals, and drinks. Staff has always been helpful if needed.
