Really disappointing experience. The place looks great, but that’s about the only good thing I have to say. We spent $300 at the store including some frozen chicken thighs that turned out to be rotten - expiration date on the package was six months ago - the smell lingered for days it was so foul. We called the store and they told us we would need to return the product to get a refund or credit. This is despite having joined the loyalty program meaning they could easily confirm our purchase in their system. So we had to take an hour out of our day to drive back and forth to return spoiled chicken (even bundled in many layers of seran wrap in a ziplock bag it smelled horrible in the car). They did give us a refund but it shouldn’t have been so much work. Based on other reviews, this is not an uncommon thing for them. They need to work on clearing out old inventory.

On our way up to the Saratoga area, we stopped at the New Baltimore Rest Stop. There Black Horse Farms had a little stand outside selling produce and baked goods. We purchased a peach pie expecting it to be delicious like the cashier told us. Unfortunately it was one of the worst pies we’ve ever had. The peaches were gross and tasted like canned food. The pie crust was stale and tasteless. Truly terrible. Would not recommend this place in the slightest

We spent $250 on groceries -got to the house we were renting and opened up the burgers to cook and they were spoiled! It was so disgusting. Ruined our appetite and didn’t even try the other burgers packages. The store needs to be more diligent with the expiration dates. We were so disappointed. Would not recommend stopping here unless you feel like wasting your money or get food poisoning.
They did rectify the situation. So changed to 3 stars…

We have been coming to blackhorse farms since 2014. The best flowers and outside decorations for all year round. Buy the plant food! Bought my petunias in April and they still are beautiful at the end of September!

NOT FRESH! I picked up my advertised as "fresh, all natural" turkey today (first time I've ordered one from BHF), and when I got home I found I had been sold a partially-defrosted, frozen turkey with a plastic pop-up timer and a package that said "minimally processed." So it is neither fresh nor all-natural. I feel a 12 lb. turkey for $60 should be what it is advertised to be. I won't make the mistake of going there again when I can get an actual organic 12 lb. turkey from Whole Foods for $36.

Great store to get fresh meats, cheeses and anything else you can think of. They also have great flowers and plants available as well. Staff I super friendly and they even have free samples throughout the entire store. Love the vibes of this place and will continue to keep going.
