Unprofessional, Ignorant, and Disrespectful Service

I 1000% regret consigning two items— a wallet and a purse— with D’Luxe Boutique NJ back in early October 2023. From the start, communication from their side was non-existent. Despite signing the consignment agreement, I received no updates until I made two in-store visits and placed two phone calls over the course of a year.

On December 3, 2024, I called to inquire about my items, and that’s when the real issues started. I was informed that my wallet had sold, but that my purse had been deemed a “fake” by their authenticator. I was shocked because I have proof of purchase from the designer's official website, and the bag was genuine. When I pressed for answers, the co-owner admitted that it had taken over a year to authenticate my bag, and I was only notified on the day I called.

The real shocker came when I asked about the wallet’s sale. I was never informed of any price reduction, yet I was told it sold for 50% less than the price originally quoted to me. I followed up in person on December 4, 2024, hoping to resolve this. The co-owner I spoke with was unhelpful, and to my surprise, the other co-owner interrogated me, claiming it was my responsibility to keep track of my items— despite the fact that I had made several visits to follow up with them over the past year.

The situation was handled terribly. My contract was “misplaced,” I was met with hostility, and there was zero accountability for the mistakes they made. When I questioned why I wasn’t notified of the price reduction, the co-owner claimed she didn’t know about it, and couldn’t remember what I was initially quoted. My frustration grew as the situation unfolded into more confusion, with the co-owners offering no clear answers.

Their lack of professionalism and poor business practices were evident in every interaction. If their authenticator failed to identify my genuine bag, I have serious doubts about the authenticity of anything in their inventory. The staff’s behavior, demeanor, and overall management are an embarrassment.

I strongly advise against patronizing this boutique. There are plenty of other consignment shops that offer better customer service, professionalism, and a trustworthy experience. D’Luxe Boutique clearly doesn’t value their customers nor those they consign with and it shows.

Long distance purchase online Accross country. Transaction was very straight forward and once paid Package arrived promptly on time. Seller is kind, professional and accommodating to the needs of her customers.
Bag was packaged perfectly so it arrived in perfect condition.
Item was described accurately and the pricing of it for an authentic product was below all of the most prominent resale sites. Will definitely buy again!
