El Rincon Trading Post is magical. I sit and ponder how amazing Estevan’s (the owner and silversmith) grandmother Rowena and grandfather Ralph must have been in their time, How often they helped others face challenges, how hard they worked in the community where a business which helped many lasted way beyond 100 years. This is what their amazing grandson does still today from the historical stories he shares with others to the beautiful jewelry he makes. My beautiful turquoise jewelry which I wear everyday was all made by Estevan. I think everyone should go to El Rincon to meet Estevan, see his beautiful jewelry and feel the magical essence the trading post will leave with you.

I have two very beautiful pairs of earrings from El Rincon…both my very favorite. The second pair Esteban (Rowena’s grandson) created from coral pieces that he got from his grandmother….I am wearing them now. Looking forward to my next visit.

Great place for vintage findings. I got a little history from the original owners grandson who took over the business. It was great meeting Mr Castillo and he knows a lot about the vintage antique items he sells. I bought a Vera Fragua and Ann Lovato pottery.

We discovered this place by accident just wandering around town. What a gem of a trading post...the real deal with tons of history. Estevan is the friendly proprietor and will regale you with colorful stories of his family members such as grandmother, Rowena Matteson Meyers Martinez, and grandfather, Ralph Meyers, both prominent Taos citizens. We found so many wonderful things there that we will treasure always. I'm actually amazed he could part with the things we bought (he knew the history of each item) but I'm glad he did! We look forward to visiting again!

My friend and I visited this wonderful shop and museum before starting a watercolor class in Taos.
The grandson of the original proprietors is knowledgeable about vintage pieces, as well as an accomplished silversmith.
