This is a cute Lil corner store. The woman, running it is real friendly. It's even for sale. It comes with a home and restaurant in the back. The woman told me her and her husband want to sell and retire in Galveston, Texas. That's where we're from.

Easy in and out for an overnight stop while traveling through from Texas to Colorado. Across the street from the Volcano. I read all the negative reviews about the current owners. This is a RV park at there home. The vibe checking in is different. No biggie though. Just do not expect a traditional office or the usual welcoming hospitality. If you get a reservation ahead of time you shouldn’t have any trouble. I had to keep calling to get one. The bathrooms are still closed, so self contained is required. Park is clean and well maintained gravel surface. Sunrise is beautiful in this area.

I Called 7 times in 7 days during different times of the day. knowing the hosts/owners are probably busy, I left one detailed message as requested. No one ever answered the phone. It has been a week, and I still haven't received a call back. There's no website to make a reservation either. I don't like a hassle, and this is all a recipe for a bad experience. If you are not that casual about a place to rest, there are good alternatives. There are great motels and Airbnb's for the same price within a 12 - 30 minute drive of the volcano. I recommend staying at the highly rated M&M Inn with amenities or call Eloy with airbnb. That way there's zero hassle with good folks that are accommodating and hospitable while also feeling secure in knowing the reservation is immediate, with a confirmation and receipt of charges, refundable, safe, etc. I'm on long road trips through the area, and just want to know I have a place to rest and shower. There's above average places in Dalhart & Trinidad (Hilton chain & air b&b, but an hour away), Raton (best western & air b&b, 30 minutes away), Des Moines (m&m inn, 12 minutes away). If you want to do a star gazing experience at Capulin volcano, then Raton and Des Moines is the way to go. It would've been cool to stay here for a change, but we're content moving forward having found some reviews here relatable. I'm sure it's a terrific view if you make it through the hurdles.

Absolutely beautiful view of the Volcano from this campground. Very cute place. It has a well kept lawn and several hammocks. It is very peaceful.

The bathrooms are clean and there is a small laundry room avaliable. The owners are very kind and helpful.

The sites are spacious and level. They are full hook up and pull through. We enjoyed our stay and will come again.

Not the greatest place. The ONLY good they have is location to the volcano. Thought they were nice and all, then I saw on FB after we left where they cowarded behind a computer and trashed ‘a customer’ about something we did (that was no big deal at all) knowing who we were and could have called us instead. No grill & picnic table at sites. I had seen earlier posts on trashing customers but never had thought we’d join that group since we are very nice & clean. Whatever. Bathrooms need attention to all working items.

Not a welcoming place. Hyper frenzied owner (Michelle). Bathroom and shower closed, no Wi-Fi, minimal service for a higher than usual price. Had to useour own bathroom and shower and likely will be searching for a dump station some place else. Would not recommend Capulin RV Park.

Capulin RV Park is a pretty nice private RV park across the highway from the Capulin Volcano National Monument entrance road. We stayed one night. Some of the sites are shady. The park streets and sites are crushed limestone. The park was clean and quiet. The sites are very close together; fortunately, it was not full and we had room. Restrooms and showers were clean (did not use shower). Amenities include: common fire ring with seating and view of volcano, swing with view of volcano.||Stayed in pull-thru campsite #25 which had evening shade and level. $50/night. It was a crushed limestone site. There was barely enough parking for my 34 ft TT. Neighbors are VERY close. Utilities: 20/30/50A electric in middle of site. Water in middle of site, good pressure. Sewer in middle of site with 4-in screw-on fitting. ||AT&T had two bars of LTE service. AT&T Speedtest: 36.6 Mbps down, 7.5 Mbps up. Free WiFi is available, but did not use it.||The town of Capulin, NM is very small. The closest restaurant is The Sierra Grande Restaurant in Des Moines, NM, which is open year round for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Other restaurants and fast food are available in Raton and Clayton. ||Would stay here again.

I want to stay here but could not get a call back after 48hrs. The message said do not leave duplicate messages. Could be a fluke, but I booked somewhere else. not worth the hassle.
