An extraordinarily spiritual experience. Walking the grounds is lovely and going into this old, historic church, still honored by locals, will stay with you always. A friend who grew up in Truchas told me that once a year his mother would go to the Santuario to get some of its sacred sand and he and his sister were instructed to always carry it with them, for protection.

Beautiful Santuario with blessed dirt and lovely grounds. The legends behind the creation of the church are interesting. The gift shop sells souvenir containers for the blessed dirt and holy water.
