I purchased this at a bass pro shop. It was mediocre at best. While everything had an excellent flavor, it all tasted the same. Between the elk and venison I couldn't tell any difference. It was very salty. I love the subtleties between different game species.

I bought a package of the elk jerky in Quemado as a snack for our road trip. The package is plainly marked as being part beef, and as being "ground and reformed" rather than traditional, dried jerky. It's delicious, and the mouth feel is very good. It's also not full of the chemical garbage that so many commercial jerkies contain. I'm really choosy about jerky, and I'll gladly buy this product again!

The summer sausage is mediocre, and the cheeses are absolutely TERRIBLE - they basically taste like processed American cheese with various added flavors. The labels say "Made for Pearson Ranch", so it doesn't even seem like they make the cheesethemselves... which is a good thing because it would be an embarrassment to their business.

Tried the venison jalapeño and pork snack stick and was not a fan. The bite in taste was not good did have a spicey after taste that was better. It tasted like what canned dog food smells like.

Tried the venison jerky. We both spit it out. Was like chewing cardboard. No flavor. Like eating a dog treat. I normally love venison and grass feed beef.

If you are a jerky aficionado then you will love Pearson Ranch Jerky! Very delicious! After sampling their jerky while on vacation from that one jerky store in every tourist town, I went to Pearson’s website and picked up the Meat Bucket. 96 snack sticks of buffalo, venison, elk, and wild boar. Great for animal-based snacking instead of all of the “veggie”-based snacks being pushed on us that are loaded with seed oils and other garbage. Also worth noting: they are gluten-free, MSG-free, and no nitrates / nitrites added. You’ll be hard pressed to find that at your local gas station / convenience store. Cannot say enough good things about this company and their jerky!

A self proclaimed jerky snob, this is hands down some of the best jerky. I order for every holiday, birthday, anniversary, etc! My 2 year old even loves & asks for the sticks.
