I really enjoyed my stay at this campground in October 2024. It was site 5, with great views all around! We had plenty of room for the RV, tow vehicle, dog cage, and chairs! It was great having a sealed trash bin at the site so trash didn’t collect in the RV or around the area. The washrooms were close and clean, just a quick walk. This is a fairly quiet area, a small amount of road noise, but nothing major. The campground host was accessible and very friendly. He really makes one feel relaxed and welcomed into the park. I’d recommend this campground as it’s great value.

Valley of Fires Recreation area was a great experience. First, I would like to give my absolute appreciation for the staff / camp host. They do a tremendous job keeping the site very clean and quiet. The restrooms were spotless, and that was just shocking for an elevated restroom. It is close to a small town with lights, but you could still see the galactic center with your naked eye just after sunset for a couple of hours. I'm sure the summer months have an even greater view. There is a nice walking trail that takes you close to the lava rocks.

This was such a unique and beautiful geological experience. There is an ADA accessible walking path that allows anyone to enjoy this amazingly young lava flow. It's also unique that this park allows for off trail hiking to explore the features of the flow. I learned so much just from the brochure as a self guided tour of the area. Definitely check out this unique bit of northern American geology. There are also RV and tent camping sights available.

Went to walk the trail and had to find a place to park. We’re 73 ft long, the host was very helpful in doing that because we just wanted to walk the trail then leave. Backed us down by the gift shop. Nice campground # 3-4 are the best for anything big. 65-70 ft. Rig. The place has a few more trails but we just did the main one then got back on the road. Saw some desert quail.

Loved camping here and checking out the Lava trail. Beautiful scenery! Excellent nightly rate of $18 electric/water hook ups. Very clean bathrooms with showers. Will camp here again.

Nice little park, our 6 year old enjoyed the short hike. Small gift shop and nice staff who gave us a little overview of the area and the trails.

This was a nice park. Amazing walkways and black lava everywhere. Scenic but hot on those walkways! It was fun to see. I rather enjoyed my stay but picked a very unlevel site (#2). There are also trails you can walk and a visitor center which was closed during my stay due to lack of staff. Host was excellent, checked when I arrived to ensure there was nothing I needed and checked back before I left as well. He was around during the day and if there was anything you needed, you could just flag him down or go to his Host site. Covered picnic table at each site with a trash can which was kept empty by the host. Shower building and vault toilets were located in the park. I'd stay again! 😁

This park is absolutely rich in natural history and great for a quick hike along the paved trail OR a more arduous one along the unimproved path. Camping out here is a great experience as it is so quiet, and the showers and bathrooms are very clean and easy to get to. There is a pit toilet near the entrance as well. The book and gift shop is well-appointed, and the people are very friendly here. The air is so clean here, and the sunrises and sunsets are beautiful. The vegetation that grows among the lava rocks is varied, and there are some good signs along the trail that will help you identify them, as well as a nice brochure that you can get in the shop. I love this park because of the essence of the sheer energy that it took to create this lava field. I love imagining what life was like in this area at the time of the eruption.
