Going southbound this is your first rest area service center. It is a little older however it is very clean. Has a small dog park and a handful of truck And and RV parking. The further south you get past Orlando the service centers become a lot nicer. However this isn't bad. It has a few places in it like KFC and dunkin' donuts, which isn't that bad. It has a little convenience store as well. The bathrooms were clean. No complaints. Stop here a lot on the way down.

A nice place to stop if you need a break on the Florida Turnpike
There are 8 service plazas located along the 308 mile length of the Florida’s turnpike. This is the 7th one as you are headed north on the path. The Okahumpka Service Plaza is located near mile marker 291. It is a convenient stop for travelers heading through central Florida on the toll road. The plaza is located in the center of the road making it easily accessible from both directions. Parking is limited, with designated areas for regular vehicles, oversized vehicles, and EV charging stations. The layout makes it pretty easy to navigate. The footprint of the plaza is smaller than many of the other plazas. Inside, the service plaza offers a variety of eating options, including fast food chains(Wendy’s, KFC, Dunkin Donuts), a store, and coffee shops. The food court is fairly clean for the volume of traffic that passes through this area. The restrooms are located opposite the food vendors. There is a gas station to the south of the plaza with reasonable prices for the area. Overall, the Okahumpka Service Plaza is a nice rest stop, offering essential amenities for road travelers looking for a quick break or a meal on their journey.

Nice place to rest and get a fast food meal. Mom and I got there just as KFC was closing. We timed it right but they were shutting down fifteen minutes before close and we waited in love and they didn't lay any attention to us. Mom is 87 and has been wanting to have KFC there for years but wasn't able to get there due to illness. Now she's better and we drive from The Villages and arrived and entered in plenty of time. At home she has KFC twice a week and for years and leaves five star reviews normally. We ended to going to the gas station and getting snacks with the KFC money she had saved up to use there and to give an outstanding review. Unfortunately it turned out poorly. The location is great and store looked very clean.. Just were ignored and that's not like KFC at all. Sad in the villages.

Good place to stop for restroom/gas but DO NOT EVER ORDER FOOD FROM HERE, THE CUSTOMER SERVICE IS THE WORST I'VE EVER SEEN.

I ordered from Wendy's and waited for a LONG time. After about 15 minutes, the older employee decided to leave the other employee to make food by herself.

I decided to be patient, but after I had waited 33 minutes for my food I finally asked what was going on and the employee who was left to fend for herself by the other employee asked me for my receipt to see the order and make it, so I gave her the receipt. They said they would make it right away.

Another 10 minutes pass since i had brought this up with the employee who was left and the older employee finally decides to come back and help the other employee. I asked for an update since it had been over 40 minutes since the order and she asked "what did you order?" and I said "I gave you my receipt and gave my name" and she thought it was smart and professional to reply "so you don't know what you ordered?"

Then after a long pause she said "oh okay, I thought I had made your order previously, I'll go make it again!" (which she hadn't, I had seen every single person's name called and name on the bags the entire time)

The older employee then proceeded to STOCK ITEMS in CLEAR view of the order counter and giving several other costumers their food who arrived after us.

After the 2nd reminder to them about our food, we STILL waited another 10-15 minutes for our food. Finally after about 50 minutes, we got our food.

Next time I'd rather starve than order food from here.

I'd rate this place 0 stars if I could, you're better off literally anywhere else for food. The lack of professionalism here and customer service here was astounding.

Save yourself a bad dining experience and go somewhere else.

3 of the 6 kiosks did not work. All 3 food places were understaffed. We ordered Wendy's and it took 35 minutes to get our food. At 1250 Wendy's had 2 employees working. There were approximately 60+ people in the service area. 20 of them were waiting for food. Please emplo more people and fix the kiosks. The place was clean!

Kids working at dunkin donuts were slow and one of them with the tattoo on his neck was slow as hell. Line was long he moved so slow I'm pretty sure he was high on something. Every time I stop here it takes forever to get something, so usually don't get anything. This time I had the family with me so I only went because they wanted something. I was 3rd in line took 20 minutes to get a few things crazy!

Easy on and off access but when your GPS tells you two miles ahead you best start getting over.
Lots of tourist in the area and selfish drivers.
Gas was $3.35 on 6/1/2023, pretty comparable to the rest of the state.
Super large and clean restaurant.
Plenty of restaurants choices.
You can purchase a toll transponder.
They have lottery kiosk.
ATM throughout. Nice gift shop with Florida stuff available. Cheap t-shirts.
Lots of shaded parking for a quick rest.

Great little oasis on a long trip. That Sun can be merciless though. Have fun with the kids on your trip, try saying the names. Better yet try rhyming them?
