Vintage at a high price. I came across t-shirts that ranged from $45-$85. There was some curation of goods but for the expense, I would expect them to be brand name or trendy items. Some interesting finds, but be prepared to spend a pretty penny.

I’m a Santa Cruz local, and I always stop at Motherlode when I’m dt. The curated collections always have some goods and I love the vendors at the register. The real treat when I go in are the workers. They’re always so kind and welcoming. They give good advice and are very attentive! Love this place! I wish tipping was a thing in retail, just so I could show my gratitude better. I hope the review suffices 🫶🏻

Absolutely adore this spot! The staff are super helpful & friendly whenever I’m there. They are always bringing in new and unique pieces so every time I pop in something new catches my eye which can’t be said for all the other vintage stores in Santa Cruz. 100% recommend checking it out especially if your wardrobe needs an update for the changing seasons!!

Love this store! The racks are all different vendors so you’re definitely bound to find something good that fits your style. The prices are very reasonable and exactly what I’d expect at a vintage shop. This isn’t a thrift store, it’s all curated by individuals which is really cool!

Everything is over priced. Cheaper to buy things new than buying them used here. While checking out the employee held up the card reader requesting a “Tip” option. They were asking for a tip just to ring up the items I purchased. I’m never going back there and would not recommend this place to anyone. “Cross Roads” is down the block and offer great prices and services. Motherlode gets zero stars.

Motherlode is by far the best vintage clothing store in Santa Cruz. The owners and vendors have true knowledge and experience in the vintage world, and understand what is valuable. Usually you go into a store like this hoping, praying to find a treasure, here everything is gold because Motherlode has done the hard work for you. If you want to pay pennies for a tattered old shirt, this isnt the place. If you want to buy priceless, one of a kind vintage clothes, in great condition, for great prices, look no further than Motherlode.

Love this store. People keep calling it a thrift store but its not. It’s a vintage clothing store. The clerks are helpful and friendly. I even met the owner while shopping one time - really really nice guy

I’ve seen the people that work here sourcing from the goodwill bins in Salinas where clothing sells for $2.50 a pound. It’s pretty disappointing that they will sell a shirt that they got for less than a dollar for $50 to $100. I would shop somewhere else that doesn’t price gauge customers and take away the opportunity for goodwill shoppers to find these clothing items at an affordable price.
