This motel is adequate to okay for a mid range motel. Prices in California are higher than in AZ, more taxes and fees. Coffee is limited in the AM and has to be asked for. Hotel staff is avaiable but not in the office... either ring at the desk or call, amd someone will be at the front desk immediately during working hours. This is an ethnic family run motel... they try to do a good job in keeping the place clean, well run. The motel may look empty when you pull in but is full by the evening... overall a decent place for a decent price.. .. good low to mid range motel.

I stayed here for the first time recently. The location was toward the south end of the main part of Lone Pine but it's not a very big town so it was still easy to walk to dining spots in town within a few minutes. Even though the motel is right along the main highway through Lone Pine, my room was fairly quiet. It was a good-sized room, and the TV was a large one. My room had a desk counter with chair plus a comfy chair, and there was a separate vanity from the bathroom area. The room had a mini-fridge with a freezer compartment, microwave, coffeemaker, iron and board. The A/C worked well though it was somewhat loud. The room had plenty of electrical outlets and the wi-fi was pretty good. The bed was comfortable for me - not too soft. It's an older motel but my room and the facility in general appeared to be clean and well-maintained. Breakfast was not included, but I still thought the Trails Motel was a good value and I'd consider staying there again.

They agreed to a discount after booking us in a room with major issues, but never processed it so we paid full price for a really inconvenient and kind of gross stay (damp carpet from water intrusion). I don't know if it was just a bad time with not enough staff, but I don't think I would ever stay here again. I feel like the mistakes made were indicators of bigger issues with management and not doing what you say you're going to do is not very fair or right as a business practice.

Though the motel itself may be unassuming, the exceptional service truly sets it apart. I accidentally left my ring on the nightstand and didn’t realize it was missing until I was three hours away. The staff kindly offered to ship it, though I was concerned it might be lost in transit. Instead, they safely held onto it for three months until I could return. Their integrity and communication were remarkable. I highly recommend this establishment 10/10 for outstanding service and care!

This is an interesting place that was built sometime in the thirties or forties as a true motor hotel. You park, if you have a small car, right in front of your door. Trucks will need to park outside or along the edge of the pool. This room review is about #14 which has been updated with modern fixtures, tile bath floor, large entry and bath door and flat entry shower as a handicap room. Problem is there is no way in the world for a wheelchair to ever get into the bathroom from the front door because the space between the foot of the bed and the refrigerator and desk type furniture is barely enough to walk through. No way for a wheelchair will make it. The room is clean though. The bed is rock hard and the pillows were worn out ten or more years ago; flat and hard as bricks, no loft at all. The shampoo comes in little packets that require a machete to open and the soap is from a child's playhouse and also difficult o open. Once you have washed your face you need to open another to continue with your torso. And adults will need two towels to get dry, they are quite small. The swimming pool was closed, I guess for the season, and had debris and a large black plastic bag floating in it. nope, not me even if it was open. But the room was clean and the lady who checked us in was very nice. I will try another place next time I am in town.

The hotel staff was accommodating and helpful with a late schedule change that had not been communicated from a third-party booking. The Trails Motel is conveniently located to the Alabama Hills. This is the place to stay, if you want to visit the Alabama Hills.

Stayed here from September 13-16th of 2024 . I asked if i can check in early and the owner whom i met later named Sandy was accommodating for my early check in . The motel is clean inside and out . The King bed was very comfortable after hours of hiking . The only thing i would recommend is that at nighttime the parking lights come on with the lightest movement and stay on for a bit too long . Definitely will consider this motel in the future . Thanks Sandy
