I absolutely love Santa Monica beach and the stunning views. In the evening, we headed to the iconic pier, which was such a fun experience, and ended the day with a delicious meal at a lovely little restaurant in town. It was the perfect mix of relaxation and adventure.

I had way too much fun on my visit. I rented an electric bike and rode around the area quite a bit. It is bike friendly and so in spite of probably going where I shouldn't or too slow, no one honked at me. Lots of bike lanes on the roads, plus bike lanes to the beach. Great restaurants and other interesting stores. I also ran across a farmers market near downtown on a Wednesday morning, so I was very pleased and stocked up on very interesting fruits.

Santa Monica is a beautiful city with a very nice shopping street. The bay is an absolute highlight, as you can see in the attached photos. It is equipped with a nice little amusement park on a platform on the beach. It is beautifully illuminated in the evening =)

Well. It's worth going there. But it never has recovered from the pandemic. That's one and I think Amazon has affected brick and motor shops. So a lot of storefronts are closed. The unfortunate thing is the street performers , ect is just not what used to be. I wouldn't go put of your way to just go to 3rd street promenade but if you are in the area it's worth a walk though. The restaurants are definitely excellent.
