I’ve been shopping at Simply Fresh for a while, and while they have a decent selection of fruits and vegetables, I’ve noticed a significant issue: the lack of country-of-origin labeling on produce. As a customer who prioritizes buying local or EU-grown fruits and vegetables, this information is essential to make informed choices.

Unfortunately, despite raising this concern with staff, no action has been taken. It’s not just a matter of convenience; clear labeling is a legal requirement in the UK to ensure transparency for consumers. Larger supermarkets follow these rules, so it’s disappointing that Simply Fresh hasn’t addressed this.

I hope the management takes this feedback seriously and works to comply with the regulations. Visible country-of-origin labels would improve the shopping experience and demonstrate their commitment to customer trust and transparency.

A large grocery store on Roman road. They have fruit, vege and a large selection of household items. They sell some vegan friendly and organic items too. But most importantly they stock my favourite booja booja chocolate brownie ice cream! I will be back!

Decent grocery shop overall, but unfortunately not good for craft beer. I have previously bought beer which turned out to be off and past its use-by date. Having gone in since then I’ve noticed quite a few beers being sold at full price months past use-by date. Not great!

Tidy, Clean but extremely marked up £££. When compared to buying like for like goods elsewhere. £7 for 6 eggs and a loaf of bread, is price gouging.

The best grocery store in the area by far. I walk all the way from Mile End specifically to do my grocery shopping. Lots of organic and vegan options as well as zero packaging/waste options. Worth a visit if you give a damn about the environment. Super friendly staff too.

Amazing selection of groceries and health food products laid out neatly. Everything was well-stocked and fresh. All the staff were polite and helpful- to the point where they so kindly delivered my heavy groceries to my accommodation. Really amazing customer service and I'll definitely be shopping here again! Thank you so much Kai and the team

Local, competitive prices, good selection of produce, friendly & helpful staff. Ask for a free loyalty card , which allows you build up your points, which you can spend in store. Very clean premises and attractive displays. Fantastic deli counter with a tempting selection of cheese/ olives/ pate etc. There is also an expanding vegan section. Lots of organic options and a good zero packaging section. I've shopped with this family/store for almost 20years. The only problem I've encountered was the 2 Too Good to Go orders I made. Each order was full of products which were well out of date and fruit/veg which were rotten. That aside, this is a lovely, family run, place to shop and I hope to be shopping there for the next 20yrs!

I used to have a 5* review, but I feel I must downgrade it a bit…
The product is excellent as always. A variety of competitively priced items as well as more gourmet or pricey options. Service has always been courteous and friendly enough.

However, providing the option of a till receipt should be the default. It is the only place where I shop that doesn’t offer their customers a receipt.
Additionally, a lot of items are not marked or the price isn’t correct, or offers aren’t updated at the till. Very often my shopping comes up £3 or £4 higher than expected, and without the receipt it’s almost impossible to know why on the spot or challenge it without making a scene.
As a result, I usually only buy a few essentials for which I know what the price will be.
